Ijazah with Sanad ( Chain of narrations leading back to prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam): You must memorize the whole Qur’an and you will study the tajweed of the narration of Hufs on behalf of Asim academically and in details (theoretically & practically ). You must be able to recite the whole Qur’an out of memory with all tajweed rules applied correctly.
In order to acquire your “ Ijazah Sanad “, you have to recite the whole Qur’an by heart / out of memory to your instructor one-to-one with all Tajweed rules of Hufs on behalf of Asim applied which we call (Khatmah). If you do finish the khatmah but still make mistakes, your sheikh/teacher may ask you to do another khatmah from the beginning till you are Qualified for the Ijazah Sanad which is considered ( the highest certificate in the Qur’an Tajweed studies ). In addition, you must pass all tajweed exams (both theory & practical ).
Then you will be tested by three instructors (one of whom is your own teacher) and all witness and agree on adding the student to his/her personal instructor’s chain of narration which is given to the student.
